Gary in our Launceston office finally took his dream holiday which was 12 months in the making.
‘Everyone dreams of a carefree holiday and this too applies to Travel Consultants. We decided on Celebrity Cruises and the vessel ‘Celebrity Constellation’.What can I say .. this was amazing. Having cruised on several cruise lines previously, this was my first time on Celebrity and I must say it was superb.
The ship is beautiful, perfect size of 90000t with about 1800-2100 passengers. The interior of the ship is spotless in the many lounges and bars as well as in the main dining areas as well as the Theatre. Cabins were large and the pool areas were constantly cleaned.
Our cruise journey of 19 nights began in Barcelona and visited such wonderful ports of Monte Carlo, Villefranche-sur-mer (Nice), Civitavecchia (Rome), Messina, Corfu,Kotor, Zadar, Venice, Split, Dubrovnik, Catania, Valletta (Malta), Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia before returning to Barcelona and not one city disappointed.
Too many highlights to name, but if I had to choose, sailing into Kotor, Montengro I will never forget, with the sheer size of the mountains in a fjord like environment at dawn – just breathtaking.
Cruising into and out of Venice, looking down on St Marks Square (this has to be on everyones bucket list) and do it sooner rather than later, before the cruise ships are banned from berthing in Venice itself.
Finally Valletta, Malta – this destination is simply stunning – a walled fortress city situated high above the Mediterranean Sea – I would encourage anyone thinking of doing a Mediterranean Cruise to have this destination included on their itinerary as you will not be disappointed.
Cruising may not be for everyone, but if you do not try it, you do not know what you are missing. My wife, sister and brother-in-law are now converted cruisers , unpack once, all meals, entertainment and a different city/culture at every port – it truly was and is a perfect holiday. Celebrity Cruises you have won us over’
