This was my first Cruise experience and what a great experience it was! The cruise was certainly about the ship and not about the destinations, although Hobart is even more beautiful from the water.
The Ship, Voyager of the Seas is a city on the water, with 15 decks, 14 bars and lounges, a rock-climbing wall, 10 pools, mini golf and did I mention an ice skating rink, there is literally something for everyone!
There are so many dining options on board. The cafe promenade, open 24 hrs, offers all types of snacks. While if you are after something more formal the Main Dining Room offers an a la carte menu, but don’t be fooled, you can have one of everything on the menu if you choose. The specialty restaurants include Johnny Rockets an American Burger Bar, Izumi Japanese, the Chops Grill and Giovanni’s Table for some Italian flair.
If you want to relax and be pampered, then this can be arranged too. The Vitality Spa offers all your beauty treatments and there is a full gym, located on deck 12 at the bow of the ship, the best view I have ever seen at any gym.
The entertainment on board was world class, with Broadway style shows to comedy and reggae music shows. If you are thinking of cruising with children (or children at heart) they will love the fact they have the Dreamworks Entertainment characters on board, all the favourites from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar. Don’t forget to get a photo with Leo the lion!
